As much as I like being in the studio I really enjoy the challenge of working on location. I put a great deal of effort into finding the best possible places for photoshoots, because it affects the end result to such a degree. Planning and preparation is crucial, especially when I know that I’ll be working with natural light.
Since the quality of light changes during the day, finding the right time is just as important as finding the right spot. The Volvo image on the next spread is a good example of that. A half hour later and that magical combination of sunrise and early morning fog would have been long gone.
